Guide 2 - Engaging Partners
The who’s involved section (under About HOPE2008) of your website is a special type of folder called a “Directory” – you can think of this as a yellow pages for organisations who are involved with HOPE2008 locally. This folder has a slightly different set of tabs – including Organisations and Staff.
Open the HOPE2008 – Who’s Involved homepage article and you’ll see there’s a directory component configured to list all the participating organisations and feature them on a map. You may also wish to enable the “Find my nearest” feature in this component.
To add an organisation to the directory:
- Select the Organisations tab (you may wish to delete the existing “sample organisations” by clicking the red “x” buttons at this point).
- Click the Create a new organisation task.
- In the pop-up window containing the new record card enter a name and description for the organisation, then click create organisation.
- Complete the details for this organisation – including contact details, address and logo.
- Click the Staff tab to add contact names for this organisation – these may be people who are already registered on the site (in which case use the add existing site members task) or new names.
- Click the save and exit button to complete the process.
The organisation will feature immediately in your directory. Overnight it will also be plotted on the interactive map.
Staff members of with the “editor” permission will be able to update the contact details for their organisation from the menu bar using my organisations under my area. |
